There are thousands upon thousands of famous people from the state of
Ohio. Some of which are actors, actresses, astronauts, singers, sports
players and even presidents. While they are all well-known for their
talents and knowledge, they have been able to contribute to the American
History which became a great benefit for the way of life for Americans.
They are known as symbols of achievers who lived for determination which
helped them succeed until their last breath.
These famous actresses, actors, singers, sports players and so
forth proved to Americans, if you work hard enough to reach your
goals, you will achieve them within a matter of time. Some of these
hard working Ohioans are; William Boyd Allison, Neil Armstrong,
Halle Barry, Drew Carey, Rutherford B. Hayes, William McKinley,
Dean Martin and Paul Newman.
The Famous Of Them All
To begin with, William Boyd Allison was born in Perry, Ohio on
March 2, 1829. He was an early leader of the Iowa Republican Party
who represented the northeastern Iowa for four terms in the United
States House. He also served six terms representing his state in the
United States Senate. He passed away right after being elected for a
seventh term in the Senate. This election broke a record in American
History.
Neil Armstrong was born on August 5, 1930 in Wapakoneta, Ohio in 1930
and died on August 25, 2012. He was known as the first man on the moon
while working for NASA Glenn Research Center. Before then he earned his
bachelor’s degree in aerospace engineering from Purdue University. Later,
he earned his master’s degree from the University of Southern California.
Halle Berry was born in Cleveland, Ohio in 1966. She is a famous American
actress who has won Emmy Golden Globe and Academy Awards. She is the only
African American woman to have received the Best Actress award.
Drew Carey was born in Cleveland, Ohio in 1958 is known as an American Actor
and Comedian. Mr. Carey also had a sitcom called, The Drew Carey Show, and
also hosted, Who’s Line is it Anyway?. Oh yeah, he is presently the host of
the Prices Right.
Rutherford B. Hayes, the 19th President of the United States, was born in
Delaware, Ohio in 1822. He was also an American politician, lawyer, and
military leader. He passed away in 1893. Another United States president,
William McKinley who was the 25th president was born in Niles, Ohio on
January 29, 1843. He led the nation to victory in Spanish-American war
but was assassinated six months into his second term in September 1901.
Dean Martin, an Italian-American singer, film actor, and comedian was
born in Steubenville, Ohio in 1917. His hit singles were “Memories Are
Made of This, “That’s Amore”, “Everybody Loves Somebody”, “Mamboltaliano”,
“Sway”, and “Volare”. Paul Newman was born in Shaker Heights, Ohio 1925.
He was an American actor and film director. He was also an entrepreneur,
humanitarian, and auto racing enthusiast. He died in 2008.
Although all the famous people from the state of Ohio was not mentioned,
they are still recolonized as the people who contributed to the American
dream. They will always be known as hard working individuals who strive
for their goals and succeeded through ambition and motivation.
As stated before, these famous Ohioans actors, actresses, singers,
comedians, presidents, and so forth have been able to contribute
to the American way of life as well as the history United States possess.
They are symbols that remind the American that you can do whatever it
is you want to do if you work hard and do what you have to do to achieve.
The famous people from Ohio not only achieved what they were or is, they
will forever be known as the famous Ohioans.
