April 30th, 2016 by Our Webmaster

Blue Jackets president of hockey operations John Davidson will fly to Toronto this morning in advance of tonight’s NHL draft lottery. He won’t have a rabbit’s foot or a rosary in his carry-on bags, but he will lean on the supernatural. “I am an ex-goalie, so of course I’m superstitious,” Davidson said. “It’s not something I can talk about in advance — that’s part of it — but I’m going to try and get us some intervention.” …read more

Second night of the NFL draft proved interesting for Buckeyes">Second night of the NFL draft proved interesting for Buckeyes

April 30th, 2016 by Our Webmaster

In an interesting start to the second night of the NFL draft, Ohio State, coming off a five-player first round, saw just two players chosen in the second round, and both — receiver Michael Thomas and safety Vonn Bell — were chosen by the New Orleans Saints. Three Buckeyes went in the third round: defensive tackle Adolphus Washington (Buffalo), receiver Braxton Miller (Houston) and tight end Nick Vannett (Seattle), increasing the total of Buckeyes selected to 10 on the way to what could be a record-tying 14 once the final four rounds take place today. …read more

Ohio State tight end Nick Vannett became the 10th Buckeye taken in the NFL draft when Seattle drafted him with the 94th overall pick in the third round. A part-time player behind Jeff Heuerman for most of his career, he became a full-time starter in 2015.
